Misplaced Songs - 4/9/11 - "Up and Down"

Today's Misplaced Song promises not to give you cancer.

The Chesterfield Kings are a band from Rochester New York. Formed in the late 70s, they're named after a no longer existent brand of unfiltered cigarettes. They sound a bit like 1960s Rolling Stones. Using that sound as a springboard they play hard driving rock and roll with a classic sound. They're a band that's hung around for a while with middling success.

Recently they were signed by Stevie Van Zandt's Wicked Cool Records. Their 12th collection was released in 2008 titled Psychedelic Sunrise. It contains today's song called, "Up and Down." From what I can make of the lyrics it's a straightforward song about a guy who's been through a lot and is still around even if his friends may not be. If you like this type of music you'll love this song. It sounds like a song you've heard before. It's very catchy and fun to listen to.

Not surprisingly I heard this song on Little Steven's Underground Garage but haven't heard it anywhere else which is really too bad.
